Leslie Culver

Executive Director

Ms. Culver brings over 35 years of business, marketing and strategic planning/development to Texas Endowment for Medical Research. With an impressive growth tract in the non-profit sector, she began her focus on non-profit management as a volunteer coordinator with AGE of Austin and quickly moving to a dedicated volunteer base of over 100 volunteers in over 25 area locations.

She served as a leader with DOVIA, sharing her experience with a diverse volunteer population at local, regional and national conferences. She managed a renewing VISTA volunteer program as part of her duties and believes strongly in using volunteer and intern opportunities as stepping stones to career advancement for those who come under her mentorship. She has grown from volunteer coordinator to program director, curriculum development leader and onto Assistant Director and into Executive Director during her non-profit career.

She has worked with leaders in the industry who have allowed her to view, demonstrate and build upon her formal university training into a seasoned professional ready to take Texas Endowment to its next level. She has an AA in Paralegal Studies, a BA in Psychology with a minor in Communications and a MA in Counseling. She is currently working on two manuscripts dealing with prison ministry and institutionalization, trauma, and the effects of social psychology on behavioral issues common to childhood and unresolved adult trauma.
